Minor Project: Mr Plimsoll's House and Road Concept

Fig 1: Concepts for Mr Plimsoll's house

Here are some initial designs of the bungalow that Mr Plimsoll's lived in. I initially didn't aim for an exact representation of the actual house Mr Plimsoll's lived in, I wanted to experiment with drawing a different styles of bungalow and how I could use the house in some shots for animation. This is why there are a few designs with one window as I had in mind a shot of the camera looking into the window at Mr Plimsoll's looking out. This idea was based on my Mum's account of her nightmares about him looking at her through the window of his house.
However when I showed the designs to my Mum's friend who lived on the same street, they pointed more towards the houses with two windows on either side as a more accurate representation of the house. They also plan on sending me images of both the house, the street as well as a photo of a street party that might have Mr Plimsoll's in it.

The street where Mr Plimsoll's lived is on the opposite side of a church, there is also numerous trees along the pavements that I want to include in final designs of his street, the reasoning is that it brings more variety to the road. I want to add the neighbouring houses to help in showing that Mr Plimsoll's house is different and spooky. In comparison to the lighter coloured houses, his bungalow is darker in tone and very dilapidated.

Minor Project: Premise of Mr Plimsolls Animation

While I still retaining the project idea from last year, of childhood bogeymen, I have decided to hone my focus on the topic towards one of my characters, Mr Plimsolls.
This change is due to the fact that I would like to produce, for my final film, an animated documentary about Mr Plimsolls and the children and adults that knew him. For this I will be recording the accounts of my Family and friends of the Family who all lived on the same road as Mr Plimsoll when he was alive. From the audio given to me, I will plan the animation around what is said in the audio track.

The Information I would like to gain from the recordings would be:

1. What was Mr Plimsolls appearance? where did he live?

2. How did he scare the children? What rumours did the children have about him?

3. His mannerisms/ did he do anything that seemed off?

4. How did Mr Plimsolls appear to the adults? What was he actually like?

While Modelling the mouth of Mr Plimsolls I was having difficulty with the structure of the mouth and realised that having the model smile from the get go wasn't the best idea. Therefore I went and changed the Orthographs slightly just so that Mr Plimsolls' expression wasn't so slasher smile and more neutral.

I feel that changing the mouth helps the model due to the fact that more neutral one allows for more control with getting the modelling correct. With the grin the mouth was too large for the rest of the face and it just looked awkward, at least for this stage anyway.

Maya: Moom Pose 2

Fig 1: Moom Pose

Fig 2: Reference Image From Google

For the second week of the 5 Minute pose I feel as though my understanding of Moom has improved. I started from the pelvis and chest and worked from there and I feel as though because of that I was able to pose the character faster and in a way that fits the reference image better then how I did last time.
What I can improve on next time would be how I position the limbs and focusing on the details of the pose a little better to get the accuracy of the pose correct.
